Monday was a great day for Indiana’s Sam Monette as the Hoosier senior swept the podium by taking both the singles and doubles crown at the Ohio Valley Regional. Monette knocked off Tennessee Tech’s Edu Mena 6-1, 6-3 in the singles final and then teamed up fellow senior Daniel Bednarczyk to defeat Ball State’s Lucas Anderson and Andrew Stutz 6-1, 6-2 in the doubles final. Monette didn’t drop a set all week in route to winning 7 singles matches and 6 doubles matches.

Oklahoma’s Alex Ghilea finished off a strong week with a 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 win over Oklahoma State’s Julian Cash in the finals of the Central Regional. 4 of Ghilea’s 6 wins came over seeded players with The Machine also beating Arkansas’s Michael Redlicki and a trio of guys from Oklahoma State – Tristan Meraut, Arjun Kadhe, and Cash.

Minnesota’s Matic Spec and Felix Corwin won the Central Regional doubles title with a 7-6(2), 0-6, 1-0(6) win over Oklahoma State’s Julian Cash and Arjun Kadhe. Cash and Kadhe will still be heading to New York for the NIIC’s by virtue of winning the All-American consolation draw.

South Florida’s Roberto Cid was victorious in Gainesville as he defeated Florida’s Diego Hidalgo 6-3, 6-2 in the finals of the Southeast Regional. Cid only dropped 1 set with his 6 wins coming over Georgia State’s Jannis Koeke, Florida State’s Benjamin Lock, Florida’s Alfredo Perez, Josh Wardell, Elliott Orkin, and Hidalgo.

Despite losing in the singles final it wasn’t a total loss for Florida’s Diego Hidalgo as he and Gordon Watson knocked off the ITA #1 doubles team of Georgia’s Austin Smith and Ben Wagland 6-3, 6-4 in the semifinals before defeating North Florida’s Jack Findel-Hawkins and Yannick Zuern 7-5, 6-4 in the doubles finals. UCLA sophomore Martin Redlicki came back from a set down to defeat USC freshman Logan Smith 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 in the finals of the Southwest Regional in Malibu. Redlicki had some tough matches in route to the title with his other wins coming over Pepperdine’s Tom Hill, USC’s Thibault Forget, Arizona’s Harry Busby, San Diego State’s Milen Ianakiev, and USC’s Nick Crystal.

San Diego’s Jordan Angus and Filip Vittek won the Southwest Regional doubles title with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Pepperdine’s Pedro Iamachkine and Lautaro Pane. Angus/Vittek’s closest match came in the quarterfinals when they edged Pepperdine’s Guilherme Hadlich and Gabriel Sidney 8-7(1).
