Dual-Match Singles Records:
Shane 10-5 vs. Schnur 4-7
Altamirano 15-2 vs. Schneider 15-3
Kwiatkowski 11-4 vs. Clark 15-3
Aragone 14-1 vs. Murray 16-1
Wiersholm 14-1 vs. Kelly 18-1
Styslinger 9-5 vs. Kodali 9-2
Dual-Match Doubles Records:
Corinteli/Shane 10-2 vs. Clark/Kelly 14-5
Stylsinger/TSK 10-1 vs. Schneider/Murray 4-0
Altamirano/Aragone 8-3 vs. Schnur/Gores 1-1
Virginia has been almost unbeatable in doubles so I got to take them to grab the doubles point. It’s tough to tell what lineup UNC will put out because you’ve got to think they want to avoid a Aragone/Kelly matchup because Aragone has feasted on Kelly twice. Ideally you wouldn’t want to put Schnur at No. 1, after missing as many matches as he’s missed, but going up against Shane is probably his best chance of winning if he can make enough returns. Henrik Wiersholm hasn’t dropped a set since losing to Anu Kodali and Robert Kelly has only dropped one set since losing to JC Aragone.
This is a tough one to predict because UNC is playing at home but you have to wonder if they can catch lightning in a bottle twice against UVA. I think UVA finds a way to get the three points in singles that’ll need with Shane, Kwiatkowski, and Aragone the most likely to pick up wins. Prediction: Virginia 4-3
#7 Georgia (12-3) at #10 Texas A&M (20-6) – 7pm ET/6pm CT – Georgia leads the all-time series 5-2 but Texas A&M has won the last two that were played in College Station including a 4-2 win in last year’s SEC Tournament Final (box score below). Georgia has a two game lead on Texas A&M in the current SEC standings so a win today would all but eliminate the Aggies from a shot at repeating as regular season champions. Georgia has used the same doubles pairings for every match this season while Texas A&M has done some shuffling due to injuries. The weather forecast is calling for temperatures in the low 60s with winds in the upper teens so the windy conditions could play a big factor.
2. #34 Wayne Montgomery (UGA 14.12) vs. #45 Shane Vinsant (aTm 14.03)
3. #120 Walker Duncan (UGA 13.52) vs. #90 Jordi Arconada (aTm 13.72)
4. Paul Oosterbaan (UGA 13.75) vs. Jackson Withrow (aTm 14.04)
5. Jan Zielinski (UGA 13.75) vs. AJ Catanzariti (aTm 13.51)
6. Nick Wood (UGA 13.64) vs. Max Lunkin (aTm 13.43)
O: Emil Reinberg (UGA 13.31)/Aleksandre Bakshi (aTm 13.33)
Dual-Match Singles Records:
Smith 11-3 vs. Rinderknech 9-7
Montgomery 6-8 vs. Vinsant 13-6
Duncan 9-1 vs. Arconada 11-7
Oosterbaan 9-6 vs. Withrow 13-2
Zielinski 6-5 vs. Catanzariti 10-7
Wood 9-1 vs. Lunkin 5-3
Reinberg 6-3/Bakshi 6-2
2. #58 Paul Oosterbaan/Jan Zielinski (UGA) vs. Max Lunkin/Arthur Rinderknech (aTm)
3. Wayne Montgomery/Emil Reinberg (UGA) vs. Jordi Arconada/Shane Vinsant (aTm)
Dual-Match Doubles Records:
Wagland/Smith 11-3 vs. Bakshi/Withrow 2-0
Oosterbaan/Zielinski 9-4 vs. Lunkin/Rinderknech 1-0
Montgomery/Reinberg 7-4 vs. Arconada/Vinsant 2-1
Georgia has won the doubles point 10 times in a row and is 2-1 in doubles in true road matches while Texas A&M is 14-2 in doubles at home. I think the large home crowd will help give the Aggies a little more giddy-up and they’ll find a way to win at No. 2 and No. 3.
The only question mark in the singles lineup is Catanzariti after the Pittsburgh native sat out the TCU match for unknown reasons. I think the windy conditions, which are the norm in College Station, will give Texas A&M the upper hand and I’d be surprised if they didn’t come out on top with the win. I like Rinderknech, Vinsant, Arconada, and Withrow for the Aggs and Zielinksi and Wood for Georgia. Prediction: Texas A&M 5-2
In addition to these two there are several other noteworthy matches going on today and throughout the weekend.
Wake Forest has a huge weekend with road matches at Virginia Tech and North Carolina. If the Demon Deacons can sweep both you’d have to put them in the picture as serious national title threat.
TCU plays a doubleheader on Friday with the matchup against No. 26 Rice on the undercard. When these matches were schedule I don’t think anyone was anticipating that Rice would be a top 30 team.
Oklahoma and South Florida will meet this afternoon in Tampa in a battle of top 20 teams. Both of these teams are trying to get back into the top 16 to potentially host a NCAA regional so a win here would really help. I look for Oklahoma to come away with a 4-1 win.
There are two good matches in the Pac-12 today with USC and Cal probably the better of the two. Cal has been so erratic the last month that it’s tough to know what to expect from them. I like USC to get the W at home and in Westwood I think UCLA takes care of business against Stanford and wins 4-1 or 4-2.
I’ll be heading down to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, tomorrow to watch Memphis and VCU and then on Sunday I’ll see Middle Tennessee State and VCU.

there are some definite must win matches this weekend for many teams on the bubble. Ole Miss needs at least a split this weekend or they might be done barring some upsets BAMA match Sunday will be huge, Memphis is free falling as well and need to sweep MTSU and VCU.
LSU probably needs to beat SCAR for sure and hope they can catch UGA down after A&M match
Arkansas needs to sweep this weekend to put a lockdown on a Top 16 spot for Regional
