Jeremy Feldman (Picture Via Wake Forest) |
Charlotte has been playing tennis since 1964 but it has only made it to the NCAA Tournament once in 2007 which also happened to be the year it claimed its one and only conference championship. Charlotte opened the $5M Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex in 2012 so from a facility standpoint it’s right up there with the other big hitters in Conference USA (Rice, Old Dominion, Middle Tennessee State). The Charlotte write-up mentions that Feldman is the 18th head coach in school history however he is just the 4th in the last 24 years.
The number of men’s head coaching openings is currently at 11 while 17 women’s jobs remain open – full list here.
Below are all the guys with college ties that came through qualies at Futures/Challengers/ATP events across the globe.

I think normally you would be right Bobby. But currently there seems to be a sudden drought in "qualified" coaches that are available. Shocking move indeed but I'd argue one of the better options at the moment.
And I was dead wrong about that. Very interesting move by Auburn.
Aubern is close to Atlanta. Bobby is from Atlanta. Auburn has not been able to touch that junior hotbed. They have been an international only school. Bobby would completely change that dynamic. Ask Georgia how well the Atlanta market can change your talent level.
Auburn is not going to hire a head coach that has just 1 year of college coaching experience
????…do you have inside info…or is that just your best speculation
Bobby Reynolds to Auburn.
Charlotte will become a top 50 program in the next 2/3 years. Jeremy will be that good. Then he will get a great offer and will be gone.
Charlotte got really lucky with this hire and should feel very fortunate to have a coach of Jeremy's caliber.
Joe Salisbury (Memphis '14), Ed Corrie (UT, Austin Krajiceck (A&M), Daniel Nguyen (USC) all won their 1st Round Qualifying match at Wimbledon
Parsa is as dialed in as anyone out there – you're right he knows everyone and must be able to get by on a few hours of sleep because you'll see him tweet thing out at all hours of the night. You could say Parsa is the insider's insider. He is super nice guy and loves tennis – if anyone is on twitter he is a must follow – @Parsa_Nemati.
Bobby, do you think you can explain Parsa to me? The dude never sleeps, is apparently chill with every American tennis player on tour right now, and apparently has some of the best sources for tennis news. Seriously, how did he even find out about the Stanford recruit while there wasn't any other person reporting on it?
