Louisiana Tech Athletics Director Tommy McClelland announced the hiring of Amanda Stone as the Lady Techsters new women’s head coach. Stone comes to Ruston via D2’s Northeastern State (Okla) where she won 81% of her matches as head coach over the past four seasons. Stone graduated from Northeastern State in 2007 and also spent two seasons as an assistant at the University of Rochester prior to becoming coach at Northeastern State. Stone replaces Chad Camper who departed after three seasons to take the women’s head coaching job at Chattanooga.

Cal State Fullerton women’s head coach Dianne Matias announced the hiring of Ellie Edles as the Titans new assistant coach. Edles graduated from UC Davis in 2013 and spent last season as an assistant coach at Middlebury. Edles replaces Mai-Ly Tran who left after three seasons to take the women’s head coaching job at Drake.

New Mexico men’s head coach Ben Dunbar announced the hiring of Robin Goodman as the Lobos new assistant coach. Goodman, who is a 2014 Drake graduate, spent the last two seasons as a volunteer assistant on Matt Knoll’s staff at Baylor. Dunbar was the assistant last season before his promotion to head coach this summer.

US Open – The number of players with college ties continues to decrease after the Bryan Brothers were defeated plus Nicole Gibbs and Dennis Novikov lost their mixed doubles quarterfinal match. There is guaranteed to be at least one former collegian in the mixed doubles final with Rajeev Ram (Illinois) and Robert Farah (USC) facing off against each other.
