It’s time for the main event in Tulsa with all 64 competitors known after the conclusion of the qualifying rounds. The main draw is out and there are going to be some juicy opening round matches. I thought I would take a look at the composition of the men’s field and show you where the 64 players came from and how they made the field.

40 players made the main draw based off the ITA’s preseason ranking with the last acceptance being USC’s Logan Smith who was ranked No. 48.

The top two returning players from each ITA region made it in which is why the following six made the field despite a ranking lower than the cut-off of 48.

#54 Max Tchoutakian (Baylor) – Texas Region
#55 Shawn Hadavi (Columbia) – Northeast Region
#69 J.C. Aragone (Virginia) – Atlantic Region
#116 Diogo Rocha (Denver – Mountain Region
#120 Kyle Mautner (Penn) – Northeast Region
#124 Jakob Amilon (UNLV) – Mountain Region

There were two wild cards awarded with Tulsa’s Majed Kilani getting the host wild card and Indiana’s Antonio Cembellin getting one for winning the ITA Summer Championship.

There were 11 players, listed below, who were ranked high enough in the preseason rankings and/or final regional rankings to gain direct acceptance but for one reason or another (injury/play pro events, etc) they chose not to participate.

#2 Cameron Norrie (TCU)
#3 Aleks Vukic (Illinois)
#19 Collin Altamirano (Virginia)
#23 George Goldhoff (Texas)
#24 Andrew Harris (Oklahoma)
#32 Sam Shropshire (Northwestern)
#34 Mazen Osama (Alabama)
#41 Paul Oosterbaan (Georgia)
#53 Alexander Ritschard (Virginia) – Regional
#90 Shane Monroe (BYU) – Regional
#101 David Volfson (Cornell) – Regional
