It’s a semifinal Monday in Athens with both matches expected to be close. Originally these matches were scheduled for noon eastern but with rain expected around 2 they’ve been moved up to 10 a.m. Georgia and North Carolina will play on the Henry Feild Stadium Courts while Virginia and Ohio State will play on the McWhorter Courts. North Carolina is making its first-ever appearance in the semifinals while Georgia, Virginia, and Ohio State have been there on multiple occasions.
In each of my match previews below I’ll list the projected lineups with individual singles and doubles records, individual and team UTRs, team doubles records, box scores from the previous meetings this season, plus I’ll make my prediction at the end. I’ll give the first one away for free but to see the other you’ll need to be a CTT subscriber ($9.99 month/no long term commitment required).
#9 North Carolina [9] vs. #12 Georgia [13] – Monday 10 a.m. ET – This will be the fourth time in the last six years that these two have met in the NCAA Tournament with Georgia having the edge 2-1. North Carolina won the regular season meeting in the National Team Indoors Round of 16 though only two of the six singles matches are expected to be rematches.

I think Georgia will play its best doubles of the week to take the early 1-0 lead and in singles I like Georgia’s chances at 4 and 5 but finding that final point will be a little too tough. I’ll take North Carolina in singles at 1, 2, 3, and 6 to pull off the win over the hometown team. Prediction: North Carolina 4-3.

In the pool xdotedot5 and kalboka are phenomenally accurate in their picks. They have a whopping 150 and 144 points respectively. And they picked UVA for tomorrow so will probably add 32 more points. If true 182 points would likely be an all time record.
