Labor Day has come and gone which means it’s time for fall college tennis tournament action. Between now and mid-November every weekend will be filled with multiple events taking place at locations across the country.
The biggest event this weekend takes place in Athens with the University of Georgia hosting the Southern Intercollegiate Championships. The SICs always have a strong field and this year is no different with Georgia hosting competitors from Arkansas, Ole Miss, Virginia Tech, Florida Atlantic, East Tennessee State, Georgia State, Georgia Gwinnett, and others. There are three flights of singles and two flights of doubles with draws and updated results available at this link. Georgia was hoping to have its live stream running this weekend but a recent lightning strike may have damaged it so it’s unknown if it’ll be operational over the weekend.
I have my fall hub set up again and will doing my best to keep it updated with links to draws, scores, and more.
Below are a list of some of the bigger events that will take place over the next few months.
Do we know which specific players from Georgia, TCU, Illinois and Columbia will be playing in Newport this weekend? It's flighted singles and only a limited number of players from each team will actually be there.
I haven't seen a list yet – maybe it'll be out tomorrow. I know there won't be any live streaming this year because apparently FloTennis is done.
