“This was a great weekend for the guys to get them in a dual match mindset,” said FGCU head coach CJ Weber. “They know what to expect now this week when we start our dual matches. I’m really proud of the way they competed today and I feel like this team is coming together very quickly. You never know when you add three guys in the spring how the team will gel but this is a very close group already.”
Alex Sarkissian (Pepperdine ’14) won his second career ATP main draw match with a 6-2, 7-6(5) win over #58 Simone Bolelli (15.50) at the ATP 250 Apia International in Sydney, Australia. Sarkissian’s first ATP win came over Australia’s John Millman last July in Bogota, Columbia. Next up for Sark is the winner of the Alexandr Dolgopolov/Thomaz Bellucci match.
