Georgia Tech junior Chris Eubanks accepted a main draw wild card into the BB&T Atlanta Open, which is an ATP 250 event, with his opening round match scheduled for Tuesday, July 25. Eubanks has played in the main draw of the Atlanta event two years in a row though he had to go through qualies last year to do so. Eubanks has been ranked in the ITA Top 10 all year and was recently named the ACC Men’s Player of the Year for the second year in a row. Tuesday was a great day for a couple of former collegians as Jacqueline Cako (Arizona St ’13) and Danielle Lao (USC ’13) earned a main draw doubles wild card into this year’s US Open after winning the US Open National Playoff Women’s Doubles draw. Cako and Lao, who were the second seed, broke the top seed Ashley Weinhold and Caitlin Whoriskey (Tennessee ’10) six times in route to a 6-2, 7-5 win in 1 hour and 23 minutes. Lao will make her Grand Slam debut while it’ll be Cako’s second appearance after playing in the 2014 US Open mixed doubles draw. U.S. Open bound! What a special day for dreams to come...

Friedman Tennis Center – Fort Worth, TX[4] TCU Horned Frogs (24-3) vs. [49-64] Jackson State Tigers (6-18) – Friday 1pm CT – The only similarity between these two is that they both earned their leagues automatic berth with TCU defeating Texas Tech to win the Big 12 while Jackson State beat Alabama State to win the SWAC. TCU was one of the best teams in the country this year while Jackson State lost three times as many matches as they won. Championship Sunday delivered some great matches throughout the country but the highest profile match took place in Stillwater as Texas Tech met TCU in the finals of the Big 12 Championships. The teams were regular season co-champs but Texas Tech got the No. 1 seed due to its win over TCU in the regular season.Texas Tech won the doubles point in the regular season meeting and they’d do it again today after picking up a 7-5 win at No. 1 and a 6-4 win at No. 2.TCU bounced back in singles, minus Eduardo Nava, and took five opening sets with Texas Tech getting it’s only first set from Alex Sendegeya at No. 3.
