The hosts of this year’s NCAAs met the hosts of last year’s NCAAs on Thursday night and in a mild surprise it was Tulsa defeating Baylor 4-3.Baylor played without Will Little, who normally plays at No. 1 doubles and No. 4 singles, and despite a valiant effort it couldn’t get it done at home. Tulsa took the all-important doubles point with Majed Kilani and Carlos Bautista winning the decider at No. 3 doubles 7-6(2).Each team picked up three first sets in singles but only two of them would finish in straight sets. Tulsa freshman Francois Kellerman won over Baylor walk-on Tyler Stayer 6-4, 6-1 to put the Golden Hurricane up 2-0 but Baylor...

There were several close matches on Sunday but there was only one that saw a top-five team go down. Georgia, ranked No. 19, was hosting No. 4 Ohio State on a mild and breezy day in Athens. After a week of sunny skies and temperatures in the high-70s, the conditions in Athens weren’t as favorable with cloudy skies, an increasing breeze, and temperature hovering in the mid-50s. Despite the conditions a crowd of just over 1000 filled into the Dan Magill Tennis Complex and they were treated to a stellar performance by the home-standing Bulldogs.Georgia Wins!! The action is heating up in Charlottesville with half of the day’s Round of 16 matches already in the books. The first two matches of the day didn’t have a ton of suspense as #8 Ohio State ran over #4 Baylor 4-0 and #7 North Carolina overcame the loss of the doubles point to beat #14 Texas Tech 4-1.The second set of matches though were both thrillers with #3 Texas A&M holding off hard charging #14 Columbia 4-2 and #9 UCLA coming back from 3-2 down to beat #11 Georgia 4-3.UCLA head coach Billy Martin wasn’t exactly looking forward to another match with Georgia despite the Bruins success versus them two weeks ago, “I thought there...
