Typically during the regular season we don’t see a ton of great matches on Saturday but today we get 3 with 2 of them taking place at UCLA and the other at North Carolina. What’s kind of interesting is that all 6 of these teams played each other on the same day 364 days ago. Last year North Carolina went to Illinois and USC and UCLA went to Athens to play Georgia and Florida. I’d consider almost all 3 of these matches as toss-ups with a lot depending on who plays and where they play.It’s always easier to make predictions on these matches when I know the lineups in advance like I do for the Kick-Off Weekend, National Indoors, and NCAAs....

There will be 15 men’s regionals taking place this weekend with 2 of the 15 getting started on Friday. I’ll start off by previewing the USC and Illinois Regionals since they both start on Friday and I’ll work my through all 15 of them by Friday evening. The 1st round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament is in the books and while there were plenty of 4-0 blowouts (20) there were several nail-biters with 5 matches finishing with a 4-3 score and 2 of those 5 finishing in a 3rd set tiebreak. The weather played a big role on Day 1 with several regionals experiencing delays and some having to move indoors. Quick Summary:#1 seeds went 16-0 versus #4 seeds with 15 of 16 being a 4-0 final. Both Virginia and Texas A&M faced tough opposition on Sunday but both answered the bell and came out on top. Virginia won the doubles point and then took all 6 opening sets and managed to finish the top 3 out in straights as Mitchell Frank, Ryan Shane, and Thai-Son Kwiatkowski all won.
