Sunday Preview: VT/UVA, FLA/aTm, + Other Storylines

Sunday brings us 2 Top 20 showdowns with Virginia hosting Virginia Tech while Florida hosts Texas A&M.  Below are the breakdowns of those 2 matches along with a schedule of play for the day. #13 Virginia Tech (15-2) at #4 Virginia (15-3) – 1pm est – This will be the first time these two have ever met when both have been ranked inside the top 15. Friday Recap: Mississippi State Upsets #6 Georgia, Hokies Gut Out A Win, + More Results

The big upset of the day came in Starkville as the Bulldogs from Mississippi State upset the Bulldogs from Georgia 4-2.  Mississippi State took the doubles point for the 16th time this year and is now 11-0 in doubles at home.  State fell a break behind at both #1 and #3 but managed to turn both courts around and would clinch the point with a win at #1 over the #1 ranked team in the country. Mississippi State kept the momentum going during singles play and jumped out to early break leads on 5 of 6 courts. Saturday Recap: Step On Back – The Pack Attacked

Going into today’s match against #12 Wake Forest, NC State had played in 11 matches that finished with a 4-3 score with the Pack on the losing end in 7 of those 11 matches.  It was just last weekend that NC State had #16 Virginia Tech on the ropes but the Pack couldn’t slam the door shut and watched as the Hokies #5 rallied from 5-2 down in the 3rd to win.Today NC State finally broke through as they upset Wake Forest 4-3.  The Wolfpack took the doubles point with wins at 2 and 3 and then picked up singles wins from Simon Norenius, Austin Powell, and Beck Bond at 2, 3, and 4 to seal the deal.  The match was played indoors at NC...

Sunday Preview: Oklahoma/Baylor, Wake/Duke, Ole Miss/Florida + other storylines

Sunday brings us 3 matches between Top 15 teams with the headliner taking place in Indian Wells between #1 Oklahoma and #3 Baylor.  The other 2 big ones are in Oxford where #13 Ole Miss hosts #15 Florida and in Durham where #6 Duke hosts #12 Wake Forest.  It should also be mentioned that all 3 are rematches from earlier in the year with 2 playing each other during the Kickoff Weekend and the other meeting at the National Indoors.  There’s a full schedule at the bottom of this post with scoring links as well.#1 Oklahoma (16-1) vs. #3 Baylor (14-2) – 1pm est/10am pst – This will be a rematch from the National Indoor Semifinals...
