Both TCU and Oklahoma State picked up big wins on Sunday with OSU defeating Texas for the first time in 10 years while TCU won in Norman for the first time since April 1977. We’ll start with the Oklahoma State/Texas match which started outdoors before going indoors after the doubles point due to rain. Oklahoma State won the doubles point for the 17th time in 22 matches after picking up wins at No. 1 and No. 2 while Texas won at No. 3. Oklahoma State took four opening sets in singles and Arjun Kadhe and Lucas Gerch won in straight sets at No. 2 and No. 3 to make it 3-0. What a night of tennis it was in Winston-Salem as top-ranked Wake Forest fought through the wind and a tough as nails opponent to defeat previously undefeated No. 3 Virginia 5-2. The match was originally scheduled to start at 4 p.m. ET but due to a late shower the start was delayed two and a half hours until 6:30 p.m. Once play began both teams had to fight through windy conditions and as the sun dropped so did the temperature. Virginia got off to a quick start at No. 3 doubles with JC Aragone and Collin Altamirano holding on a no-ad point and then breaking on a no-ad point to go up 2-0. Wake’s Petros Chrysochos and Dennis Uspensky would break back...

TCU got off to a quick start in doubles by going up break leads on all three courts however Texas A&M would break back on two of them. The one court where Texas A&M couldn’t get any traction was at No. 1 as TCU’s Cameron Norrie and Jerry Lopez went up 2-0 and cruised to a 6-1 win. Next door at No. 2, TCU’s Reese Stalder and Hudson Blake jumped out to a 2-0 lead however Texas A&M’s...

Three of the four matches saw the road team pick up a win while No. 17 Kentucky was the only team to win at home. TCU finished off its West Coast trip with another win while just down the road UCLA knocked off Duke. South Carolina rallied from a 3-1 deficit on the road to defeat Arkansas 4-3. South Carolina took the doubles point when its No. 3 team of Gabriel Friedrich and Andrew Schafer broke for 6-5 and then Schafer held on the no-ad point to clinch it 7-5. TCU’s west coast trip has been a good one so far as the Horned Frogs won their third straight with a 6-1 win at UC Santa Barbara. TCU won the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 then they took four first sets in singles. Cameron Norrie, Guillermo Nunez, and Reese Stalder won in straight sets with Nunez clinching at No. 3. Alex Rybakov and Jerry Lopez won in third sets while UCSB’s Chase Masciorini double-bageled Gianni Mancini at No. 6. I’m not sure how Masciorini’s match didn’t finish first but according to the box score it was the second to last match to finish. With three straight wins, @RoditiTCUTennis’s hat...
