Rankings Release – 2/15 ITA Women’s Team Rankings & USTA Mens & Womens Top 25

Wednesday was ranking release day with the USTA releasing its second top 25 while the ITA released just the women’s team rankings (no men’s team rankings this week due to the NTIs). I’ll start with the ITA rankings which kept Florida at No. 1 after the Gators won their first National Team Indoor Championship since 1999. North Carolina stayed at No. 2 after a runner-up finish at the NTIs while the two semifinalists, Georgia and Ohio State, each moved up three spots to No. 3 and No. 4 respectively. New USTA Poll Released Plus ITA Releases Men’s Team Rankings

Wednesday was a busy day for rankings with the USTA releasing its inaugural top 25 while the ITA released its first singles and doubles rankings in over a month in addition to releasing its men’s top 25 (no women’s team rankings this week due to the NTIs). I’ll start off with the ITA top 25 which kept the same teams at one through four (UVA/Wake/Ohio State/Cal) with North Carolina moving up two spots to No. 5. Florida was the biggest mover of the week rising five spots from No. 11 to No. 6 after defeating USC and UCLA over the weekend. New USTA College Poll to Debut; Dual-Match Results; NAIA Releases Preseason Top 25

The USTA announced on Tuesday that it will be debuting a new set of college tennis rankings beginning on February 8th. A nine member panel (including myself) will vote on the D1 Men’s and Women’s Top 25 each week with the poll released on usta.com each Wednesday – the USTA’s full release is available here. The USTA also recently announced that it was expanding its College MatchDay series to a few sites outside of National Campus in Orlando.
